The texts are written in a note book with ruled paper turned upside down. On the front cover printed "Note Book"; on the upper pastedown printed: "Sailing Boat – NB 222", "Made in the People's Republic of China", accompanied by Chinese letters.

The manuscript is written in a bound calendar with separate pages for each date, covering the period 11 March (13 Ṣafar 1360) to 18 September (27 Šaʻbān 1360). On each page the date is given according to the Gregorian, Ethiopian, and Hiǧrī calendars.
