Unidentified fragment related to “al-maqūlāt al-‘ašar”. The intent of Aristotle here was to comprehensively categorize everything that can take the place of a subject and a predicate in a proposition. So he came up with ten categories and everything in the universe is either a substance (ǧawhar, ǧism) or nine incidental attributes, and incidental attributes are found only in substances. All of this created the framework upon which his logic and philosophy could be built.
