Biographic comments

Sufi mystic from Palestine. He settled in Medina, where he studied ḥadīṯ and taṣawwuf. He was affiliated to the Naqšbandiyya and the Šaṭṭariyya, of which he became Ḫalīfa. He is also known as a transmitter of the silsila akbariyya, mounting up to Ibn ʻArabī.
