Biographic comments
Ghumari was a leader of the Siddiqiyya Sufi order, a branch of the larger Shadhili order. He was a Sufi, but he was a strong critic of many Sufi orders, especially the Naqshbandi . Unlike most of Moroccan scholarship, al-Ghumari opposed the Ash'ari school of theology.
He was known for a debate between him and the hadith scholar al-Albani.
