He was a traditionist, adīb and poet of the Ḫalwatiyya ṣūfī brotherhood. He came from Maghrib and refer firstly to the Mālikī maḏhab, then he became ḥanafī. He studied at al-Azhar and became muftī in Jerusalem where he died in 1191/1777.
