Son of the founder of al-Ṭarīqa al-Ḫalīliyya in Egypt, a branch of al-Bayyūmiyya. His and his father's (Muḥammad, d. 1338 H / 1920 M) tombs are in Masǧid al-Šayḫ Abū Ḫalīl in al-Zaqāzīq, Egypt. Ibrāhīm's successor as the leader of the ṭarīqa was his son Maḥmūd Ibrāhīm Abū Ḫalīl.
